Jonesboro, Ga. (November 4, 2015) – The Heritage Community Foundation presented a grant to Jack Bowdoin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Henry Council for Quality Growth, on October 14, 2015. Henry Council for Quality Leadership, Inc. (HCQLE) was recently formed as a 501(c)3 entity by the Henry Council for Quality Growth (HCFQG) to help facilitate the launch of The Leader in Me program in Henry County. The $2,500 grant will be used by HCQLE to help fund The Leader in Me program at Cotton Indian Elementary School in Stockbridge (CIE).
HCFQG is a broad-based membership organization committed to helping Henry County become a better place to live, work, play and do business. The Council benefits the community by providing an open forum for dialog with the goal of achieving quality, sustainable growth for Henry County. Recently, HCFQG and HCQLE have collaborated with Henry County Board of Education to bring The Leader in Me program to the Henry County. The purpose of The Leader in Me program is to teach 21st century leadership and life skills to students and to create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. It is a whole school transformation process developed by Franklin Covey. Cotton Indian Elementary School, the 34th school in Georgia to adopt The Leader In Me program, was chosen by the Board of Education to be the pilot school for Henry County.
